Find where your handcrafted work fits.
Practical buyer research for handcrafted artists, wherever you sell. Bring your product photos or a public website, add your prices and terms, and review potential stores with reasons you can assess.
Powered by the people who bring you IndieMe Marketplace and IndieMe Academy.
Prepare your collection profile and review potential markets. Live store research requires an individual access code. No ChatGPT account is needed.
Prepare your collection profile and save your work without a code. Use your individual code when you are ready to research stores. You do not need an IndieMe or Academy membership.
Each pilot code allows three successful research batches. A batch returns one to five potential stores; five results are not guaranteed. Editing your profile, opening saved work, and downloading files do not use research batches.
Use a Maker Waypoint project file (.json) you previously downloaded from this app.

Choose one collection or product group with similar prices and uses. If your everyday bags and evening clutches serve different customers, explore them separately. You can test another collection later.
A live research batch can consult this public website. Check that it describes the collection you want to explore.
Choose up to five JPG, PNG, or WebP photos. Each photo must be 1 MB or smaller. Photos stay local until you agree to send them with a live research batch.

Your profile, photos, store assessments, and drafts remain only during this page visit and are not saved to our application database or your IndieMe account. Refreshing or closing the page can erase unsaved work. Save a project file to resume later, and save a PDF for a readable report. Project files include photos; PDFs do not. Live research sends your profile and selected photos to OpenAI, whose data-handling policies apply. We retain access-code usage counts to enforce pilot limits.
Confirm your collection focus, separate actual customer experience from ideas, and review which retail settings to investigate.
Think about how your work could complement similar products. We will treat an untested opportunity as a possibility to investigate.
Customer ideas are hypotheses. Age, gender, income, and geographic demand require supporting evidence.

Merchandise evidence describes what a source shows. Fit explanations are interpretations for you to assess. Check current stock, prices, outside-maker eligibility, and buying terms before contacting a store. A location alone does not establish customer demographics.
Live research is awaiting secure setup. Your code is checked on the server for every search.
Pick a store, add the reason your work fits, and edit the draft in your own voice.
Review the store's submission instructions before contacting it. Nothing is sent automatically.

Downloads a Maker Waypoint project file (.json). Keep this file, then use Open previously saved work in this app to restore your profile, photos, results, assessments, notes, and draft.
You don’t need to open or edit the file yourself. Reopen it inside Maker Waypoint. Save again after making changes.
Creates a readable report for your records. A PDF cannot restore your work in the app, and photos are not included.
Opens a printable report. Choose “Save as PDF” in your browser’s print options.
Your downloaded project includes photos and business details, but not your access code. Nothing is saved to an artist account. Opening a project does not run research or reset your usage limits.
